Anord's scope of work:
The new Sentrum data centre on Watford Business Park comprises eight data halls each one of 10,000 sq ft in size. The complete design & build contract to was awarded to Mercury Engineering. With 80,000sq/ft of data space and associated plant needing to be built to the bespoke requirements of various blue chip clients within tight timescales; Anord were selected as the flexible switchgear partner with the capacity to deliver on such a large scale project.
Key features of Project:
One successful aspect of the project design was Anord’s 3D solid modelling design capability, which ensured the integrity of the switchgear interface with the cable installation.
With the involvement of Mercury, their associated design partners and Anord, it was agreed that the optimum solution would be to locate the switchgear suites within modular outdoor plant rooms. These modular outdoor plant rooms were manufactured and fitted-out off site within a quality controlled factory environment. We also accredit early involvement, proven project delivery structures and large scale manufacturing capacity as the key factors in successfully delivering all of the generator & UPS switchgear, package substations and PDU’s associated with Sentrum’s world class facility at Watford.
Notable Partnerships:
The design phase was accelerated to ensure key milestones were met. This was achieved successfully by working closely with Mercury’s design team, often turning approval times around within 1 day by working in synergy towards common goals at meetings.
